Naomira had been having a row of good days. Her usual worries hadn’t been harping at the forefront of her mind and she’d been able to rise out of bed because of the American speakers she had drifting music with soothing words throughout the days she was home. With her daily planner and schedules around her room and the dorm what she was to do and when she was to do them, she knew she had priorities and responsibilities. She woke up that morning, fresh-faced and bright-eyed. She made waffles for Parker, reminded him that she switched shifts with someone for the mid-afternoon, and that she had jazzercise class in the town over before work, and packed her satchel. In her satchel she had all the things she might need. It helped to remind her that she was prepared even for the seemingly unexpected.

Jazzercise from nine in the morning to eleven thirty was good and so was the forty-minute ride back. In that ride she was able to plan the next week, leaving small openings in case she made any friends as well as start a new album of a muggle American artist. When she got to work she smiled brightly at her boss and took the regimented pills before pulling her hair into a high ponytail and changing into her work outfit. Three hours into her shift around four-thirty she was feeling confident and gleeful that the day was turning out so well. She tucked a stray strand of darkening-blonde hair behind her ear as she let out a soft, content sigh. At the sight of the next customer, she blinked in surprise.

She felt a wave of nervousness rise inside her; so many things could happen in the span of just a few months, she was astounded by just how quickly things could happen. Entering Merlin's Academy she was definitely not the same as she was now. She finally felt like a college girl; or well, a young adult. Things felt good, things felt more in place. She untucked the hair and slid her fingers through the fringe to push it to one side. She bit her lower lip as she hesitantly gave a small wave.

"Humphrey," she called out, glancing around to see if any of her superiors were paying any attention and feeling a bit of her nervousness ease up when she saw they weren't, she smoothed out her uniform, "hi." She said in greeting stepping closer to him with a soft smile.

Humphrey woke up to the sound of his alarm and quickly shut it off so the annoying sound would go away. Getting out of bed with a yawn, he made his way to the kitchen to find some breakfast. After a quick meal of eggs, bacon, and toast he tried to find some tea only to discover he was out. He frowned and let out a sigh, the world simply wasn't right when he was without his morning cup of tea. Later in the day he'd go out and fix that problem, but for now he was in the mood to go for a run and got dressed. Once he'd ran a couple miles and showered he was feeling a little more like himself and got ready to go into Avalon.

A bit of a walk later and he found himself walking into Honeydale's, which was really the only place for good tea around here in his opinion. It was a place he'd come to fairly regularly since starting at the academy, and he'd even talked a little with Parker before, one of the workers here. When he walked in and saw Naomira coming over to help him though, he was more than a little surprised. They hadn't really talked much after the sort of date they'd had, and he felt a little nervous but was still happy to see her. Smiling at her, he gave her a small wave. "Hi Naomira, didn't think I'd bump into you here. Found myself a little short on tea supplies this morning and need to restock." Humphrey told her.

Naomira could still remember meeting Humphrey for the first time. It was exhilarating to be in the presence of a boy for basically the first time. She hadn’t met a boy with a bird too; Mei and Hephaestus got along incredibly well too. It was a promising sort of meeting, and even more promising date even if it didn’t progress further than a date. But it was magic while it lasted and definitely worth it. After she’d a date with Conner, a blind date and it was terrible. Around the same time her and Parker became roommates and she was gifted a new, close friend. She adored her life now and everything that had happened since.

But it was all thanks to Humphrey wasn’t it? In retrospect, if Humphrey had been a cruel, mean boy to her, perhaps Naomira wouldn’t be so trusting to the ones she’d met. If Humphrey had been any different than he was now, she definitely wouldn't have been able to trust Parker or Nathan as she had been. In that sense, the good that was her life now was all thanks to Humphrey.

She hadn’t tried to avoid him by any means. She hadn't tried to seek him out either though. So now was perfect timing, in that regard.

"Oh short on tea," she echoed the words before smiling, "do you want help picking them out? Is there a usual you get?" She wanted to set herself to helping him before being able to talk to him about her outer work life.

Even though they'd barely started to get to know Naomira, Humphrey had missed hanging out with her. She had been one of the first people he'd actually become friends with here at the academy, and to be honest even now he didn't have many of those. He know how to be friendly but for some reason he'd never been good at making friends. Hopefully this year he'd be able to do a little better job of that, and he realized maybe a good start to that would be renewing his friendship with somebody that he knew and liked. For whatever reason when he'd met Naomira he'd felt comfortable around her, which wasn't something he usually felt. It had been silly of him to not make more of an effort to keep in touch with her, and he wouldn't let it happen again.

Thinking about the question of if there was a usual he got he realized there were a few things he always purchased when he was here. "Well I always get some chamomile, echinacea, and earl grey. Then I usually get something different to try, see if I find something new I like. Any recommendations?" Humphrey asked. Part of him hoped that after he got the tea he needed they'd be able to chat a little, the shop didn't seem too busy at the moment. He hoped that she would want to catch up too, and it wasn't just him.

Naomira figured that the situations she was in with Humphrey was at the very least a hundred times less awkward than it was supposed to be. She heard running into someone you'd gone on a date with was supposed to be awful; like the equivalent to getting your foot stepped on by a rhinoceros. At least that's how Kikiyo Tadago described it as. Since her mother barely tolerated her having friends, Naomira couldn't expect her mother to be even the slightest bit okay with her dating a boy. That would be hell. She winced just imagining her mother finding out about her friendships before remembering she was far out of the reach of her mother and therefore could not be hurt by her. The thought was more than a little comforting.

For that reason she thanked whatever deities were favoring her lately and thought with little hope that perhaps her and Humphrey could rebuild a friendship. Or build a friendship since there wasn't an actual one in the first place solid enough to consider a friendship. She imagined being close enough to one day introducing Humphrey to Nathan and Eva. She wondered if he liked children even; she knew she did.

"I can ring any of those up for you," she murmured softly and smiled, "I prefer simple just English Breakfast or green tea, and Rosa Lee's offers some really exotic ones that I would buy if I had the luxury; there's a Dragon Phoenix Pearl Jasmine White Tea, Mangosteen Green Tea, but a delightful one would be Wu Yi Shui Hsein Rock Oolang Tea."

"How has school been for you?" She asked after a moment.
