PostSubject: Stealth and Infiltration Lesson 1   Thu Dec 03, 2015 10:19 pm

Jezika made her way to the stealth and infiltration classroom. She still did not like the position she had been assigned. She was made for active duty, born to disguise herself as anyone and get the job done. Teaching a class full of young people wasn't in her job description - unless of course she had to do undercover work as part of a case.

Being stripped from her team and ordered to hole up in a university as a teacher wasn't what she had in mind when she became an Auror. But what could she do when there was a mole somewhere and her personal details were leaked to the world? With her cover blown, she was practically useless now since they had no idea who knew her true identity. Until the mole was eradicated and her identity recovered, she had to stay at the university.

Jezika entered the empty classroom, set down her bag and turned to the board. She wrote the name and identity she'd adopted for the teaching position: Jezika Fayne. No one here knew her real name and she was determined to keep it at that. Under her name, she wrote: Stealth and Infiltration.

She sat down at her desk and waited for the students to come in.

Brooke was more than ready for classes. She hadn’t realised just how much she missed learning and studying, not in general, but this. Becoming an Auror had always been her dream, and it was coming truer with every passing moment. Sure, she had gotten a bit sidetracked by her family and with all that had happened, but that was in the past. Just like Josh was in the past.

There were three things she cared about in the present - her family, her friends, and Joe. Adjusting her bag to even out the weight, she entered class, early as usual, and smiled in greeting. The professor was a new one, and Brooke was unsure if her absence after it took place had been noted or not.

In any case, she had caught up with the work and all the necessities for her to still remain in the year without being pushed back. So here she was, making her way to the front desk as usual. Her hair was loose, but she had a rubber band around her wrist should she need it, and she don a t-shirt and jeans. Nothing too tight, but not so loose as to get in the way of anything physical.

“Hello Professor Fayne,” she greeted, keeping her tone polite, but there was no hiding her excitement. “I’m Brooke.” For a moment, she debated asking the witch how she was, as she would with some of the other Professors she was more comfortable with, but decided against it. Instead, she sat down and removed her notebook and writing materials, looking around the class and wondering what they’d be learning today.

Amerix stared at the reflection of herself. There was no mistaking the black circles under her eyes, her pale complexion and the haunted expression on her face. The black t-shirt she had on hung on her body loosely and the belt on her jeans barely held up her jeans, attesting to a lack of appetite. Her hair was stringy from lack of care and her lips were chapped. It was a ghost looking back at her. Her gaze landed to the half empty bottle of sleeping pills she'd been taking since she came back from home. She needed to get more.

    Tiqvah whined.

She glanced at the dog. Not even her faithful companion could cheer her up. Or comfort her. She glanced out the window, her dead eyes not taking in the beauty of fall, one of her favourite seasons because it spoke of the coming winter. Her eyes returned to the dog and she frowned, noting the outline of the animal's ribs.

"I'm so sorry," she whispered, opening a cabinet and taking scooping some feed into Tiqvah's bowl.

The dog barely glanced at the food before returning her gaze to her human. Something was wrong. Very wrong. And it seemed like her usual antics couldn't cheer her human savior up. The human had saved her when she was just a pup; saved her from starvation and death and yet nothing she did could make her human feel better. The dog whined.

Amerix smiled sadly at Tiqvah, placed a kiss on her furry head, grabbed her bag and walked out of the room. I'm doing this for you Papa and Mama she thought as she climbed the stairs to the third floor. All she wanted to do was curl up in bed and stay there for the rest of her life but she needed vengeance for her parents' deaths and she would not rest until the man who was responsible lay cold and dead six feet under.

She entered the classroom, noted the new professor, gave her a nod and headed for a seat near the back of the classroom, bypassing Brooke without a glance. She wasn't in the mood for cheerfulness. Right now her focus was to become an Auror good enough to take on whoever it was who murdered her parents.

Thana was hardly one for pleasantries. Not now anyway, right now her school year focused on passing her courses and looking after her brother when he was home. Thank Merlin Hogwarts was a boarding school, to be honest she had no idea how she was going to look after a teenage boy. But was sure she would figure it out.

Walking to the floor she needed Thana walked through the door, "Professor." She greeted simply, then sat near Brooke. A few chairs away for space. She hadn't seen Brooke in ages, hell she didn't even get the girl a wedding gift. She was married. That much Thana was sure of. As for everything else apart from her familiar wanting to see her friend she had no idea.

Taking her seat and pulling out her books Thana got her stuff ready then faced the teacher. Ready to try school again for a third time.

With her first year and a horrid summer out of the way, Adrienne was looking forward to the new school year. Something about it just felt right, and she hope the feeling stayed beyond the first few weeks. She especially looked forward to the winter when it was less bright and more appropriate to be as covered up as she usually was. None of her peers thus far had become privy to her little... affliction, having been able to keep everything in check much better than she'd anticipated. Things were still weird between her and her only recently discovered father, Codey, but she couldn't really complain with the way he tended to spoil her.

Dressed in simple, yet fashionable black and white attire, Adrienne entered class with her long, thin coat flowing behind her as she walked to a sear near the front. She set her purse on the desk and dug through for her notebook and red quill, ready to take notes if needed, not really bothering to look up or greet the professor like most the other kids did so casually. It was still something she wasn't quite used to here.

Though the Auror classes were interesting and no doubt useful for her future, Adrienne seemed to be the opposite of most as she would have been more interested in taking classes focused on politics, or public / international relations, or any other of the more office-oriented careers that most Auror-trained people realistically ended up doing. After all, not everyone can end up in the field on active duty.

It was good to be back. Arthur hadn't realized just how much he had missed Auror training. He liked to think that the time away had helped him clear his head a little though.

He greeted the professor taking a seat. He remembered her and one of the other students from last lesson, as well as remembered Brooke from previous lessons. Professor Fayne was professional and knew what she was doing and that was what mattered.

He gave Thana a nod when he spotted her. It had been a while since he had last seen her. He glanced at Amerix and was shocked when he realized how dead she looked. Whatever had happened to her since he last saw her must have been really bad. Both them being in class and him not knowing her well enough to expect her to open up to him stopped him from saying anything.

He got out his supplies but couldn't remember the last time they had been asked to take notes. He knew that Aurors did do paperwork though and that they must eventually.

Jezika watched quietly as the students filtered into the classroom. The first one who came surprised her by introducing herself - highly unnecessary since she had a list of all those in the major and made a point of putting a face to the name - but appreciated nevertheless.

Jezika returned the smile. "Nice to meet you, Brooke," she replied, not missing the wedding ring on her finger. A little too young to be married in her opinion but she wasn't one to pry into people's lives.

She waited for the class to fill, responding to those who greeted her and ignoring those who didn't. Such pleasantries were next to useless in the field when one was fighting for one's life. As each of them came in, she fell into the habit of analysing them to pick out information. None interested her except the second one to arrive. The sight of this girl was troubling and everything she saw pointed to the death of a loved one - a very brutal death. She made a mental note to look into the matter.

Jezika kept an eye out on the clock as the room filled up and once the boy - Arthur - came in, she decided to start the class. Standing up, she looked around the room at the students. "Welcome to Stealth and Infiltration. I won't bore you by introducing myself," she began. There was no need to compound the lie of her identity by verbalising it. "Today's class will be an introduction - nothing too difficult - which will let me gauge your knowledge and skill set."

Jezika paused to let that sink in before continuing, "Stealth and Infiltration is a vital part of being an Auror. It involves going undercover, gathering information, strategising and a ton load of improvisation. Can any one of you give me examples of items, spells, charms or jinxes that would be useful in these cases?" She looked around the room, waiting for them to respond.
