Aria comes from an ignorant and rude muggle family, his brothers often said that he was adopted due to the fact that he was so unlike them. In that as a child he would prefer to set insects free rather than trap them inside glass jars until they died. His whole family was very rough as he was more peace loving. Therefore it is no surprised he was often bullied by his brothers and even parents as being to soft.

When Aria turned eleven, he received his letter to Hogwarts, his parents were in disbelief that they had a wizard as a son. It seemed that this was yet another way Aria was completely different to his family. He often didn't come home on holidays as for he preferred the peace and quiet of an almost empty castle, as apposed to the yelling at the T.V or the constant arguments with his brothers at home. His parent told everyone he went off to some hippie school. When at Hogwarts Aria was sorted into Hufflepuff and made many life long friends, and it was soon clear he had a real skill for potions, being top of his class in almost every year.

The night Aria received his results was a good night for him, he had manage to achieve out standing in both Potions and Transfiguration. Soon after crow delivered to him his invitation to Merlin's Academy for Excellence. Aria was overwhelmed, why hadn't he heard of this place before and naturally accepted the offer to major in Potioneering.
